About me

Hi!! I'm Sara :)
I'm a jack-of-all-trades designer and an MTSU alumni. I like to try my hand at anything, from sewing to game development, but I'm especially fond of digital illustration. I'm from Egypt, raised in TN, so I'm fluent in 1.65 languages!
I want to focus my career on cohesive brand systems and illustration. I have experience in all these softwares:

I also know HTML and CSS and coded this website from scratch. I've earned the Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign certification on Linkedin Learning.

Gloria

April 2023
Branding, lineup poster, signage, schedule, social media, and merchandise for a young adult book festival. Gloria's branding is inspired by its theme of adventure and fantasy, and its location at St Dunstan-in-the-East. Made in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.

The Pantry

June 2023
Branding and merchandise for a berry farm gift shop. Made in Illustrator, Blender, Photoshop, and Indesign.

Azalea

September 2021
A logo for an imaginary coffee shop in the Smoky Mountains. I took inspiration from Tennessee wildflowers and experimented with a variable logo. Made in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.

Lux

November 2023
A holiday campaign for Misho, a luxury jewelry brand. The line drawings are simple and elegant, while the typography is bold like Misho's jewelry. Made in Illustrator & Indesign.

The Raven Cycle

February 2022
A series of 4 book covers I made for Maggie Stiefvater's series The Raven Cycle. I felt like their current covers (shown in the last image) didn't properly convey the storytelling and magical feeling of this series. I combined mystical and natural elements of the story in bold illustrations. Made in Photoshop and InDesign.

Carrots

November 2022
A PSA poster series about the common myth that carrots make your eyesight better. I represented the myth conceptually. Because of the origin of the myth, I researched WW2-era propaganda for the style. I unified the posters with their color scheme and repeated motifs. Made in Illustrator.

Orbit Magazine

May 2021
A magazine for space lovers, with experimental type setting, running sidebar, and table of contents. Made in Indesign.

Best Buddies annual report

March 2022
An annual report redesign for Best Buddies. I chose not to add any images and instead expanded the style of the Best Buddies logo done by Keith Haring. Because the goal of the organization is to help the IDD community, I chose dyslexic-friendly fonts and tried to avoid information overload. Made in Indesign.

SPARK

April 2023
A space travel brand and website that wants to spark a passion for science. You can view the Figma prototype here. Usually, space-themed designs are dark, with emphasis on sleekness and speed, but I designed this brand light and friendly. I used + and × for stars, as a wink at the educational theme. Made in Illustrator and Figma.

×

Design Manifesto

December 2021
An interactive website representing my design process and “manifesto.” You can visit it here. This was my first time doing web design, so I did tons of research. I had to make a few compromises but managed to make a website I'm proud of. Made from scratch in VS code and hosted on Github.
I recently updated it and cleaned the code a LOT with what I've learned about web design.

What?

October 2022
An animated six-word story. Made in Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.

×

The Great Pyramid of Giza

October 2022
A poster about one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world, inspired by Jessica Hische's daily drop cap series and Penguin drop caps. Scan with the Artivive app to see AR animation! Made in Illustrator and After Effects.

Musroom

April 2021
A font. I experimented with inktraps and learned more about type anatomy and type specimens.

Pisano Tales

April 2023
A field guide of tourist locations in my neighborhood, full of nostalgic suburban shenanigans. The illustrations are inspired by childrens' books. All the stories are true btw. Made in Procreate & Indesign.
